How to install a water heater: safety sequence

Before drilling

1. Read the manufacturer instructions (above/under, vertical, minimum clearances).
2. Check the load-bearing wall and service space.
3. Prepare a safety valve — e.g. Remer 1/2″, Haier 8 bar — per the card.

Water and electrics

1. Water: valve in the correct place per the diagram; seals — seals.
2. Electrics: separate circuit/protection by power — often a pro.
3. Before switching on — fill with water (a dry element burns).
4. Check for leaks; then set temperature.

When to call a pro

• Doubts about electrics, puddles, pressure.
• Large capacities / awkward place.
• Instantaneous model with high power.
