Circulation pump: when you need it
A circulation pump keeps flow in the heating circuit. It is not a garden water pump and not automatically hot-water recirculation to the tap. Basics: how to choose a pump.
When you need it
- Closed radiator systems with forced circulation (typical modern projects).
- When radiators are far / the system is large and gravity “does not pull”.
- When replacing an old circulation pump 1:1 by DN and curve.
Examples: DAB Evosta 2, Evosta DN25, Evosta SAN, Wilo Atmos PICO, PICO 1-6.
What not to confuse
- Borehole / JET water supply.
- Hot-water recirculation to the mixer (another job — read the project).
