What a thermostatic valve means

Guides 03/11/2026 INVENTĀRS

What a thermostatic valve means

A thermostatic valve on a radiator is the mechanism that changes heat-carrier flow. The thermostatic head (sensor) feels air temperature and “tells” the valve to close when the room is warm enough, or open when it cools. Together they keep comfort without a constant “hand on the boiler”. How it works simply You set the desired level on the head (often numbers 1–5, not °C immediately). When the room warms, the head element expands and presses the valve — flow decreases. When it cools — the opposite: the valve opens, the radiator gets warmer. This is not a room thermostat for the whol..

What pump flow and head mean

Guides 03/11/2026 INVENTĀRS

What pump flow and head mean

Flow (m³/h or l/h) — how much heat carrier the pump can move. Head (m) — against pressure losses in the circuit (pipes, radiators, valves). Read both with the curve, not the “biggest number”. Examples: Evosta 130, Evosta 180, PICO 1-4, PICO 1-6, DUCA 25-80-130. Why “with reserve” hurts An oversized pump can cause valve noise and unnecessary energy use. Better: project / old label / hydraulic calculation. sizing · when you need it · main guide · Pumps.

Circulation pump — when you need it

Guides 03/11/2026 INVENTĀRS

Circulation pump — when you need it

A circulation pump keeps flow in the heating circuit. It is not a garden water pump and not automatically hot-water recirculation to the tap. Basics: how to choose a pump. When you need it Closed radiator systems with forced circulation (typical modern projects). When radiators are far / the system is large and gravity “does not pull”. When replacing an old circulation pump 1:1 by DN and curve. Examples: DAB Evosta 2, Evosta DN25, Evosta SAN, Wilo Atmos PICO, PICO 1-6. What not to confuse Borehole / JET water supply. Hot-water recirculation to the mixer (another job — read th..

What water heater power and capacity mean

Guides 03/11/2026 INVENTĀRS

What water heater power and capacity mean

Capacity (L) — how many litres in reserve. Power (kW) — how fast the element heats. They are not interchangeable. 10 L (Haier 10 L) will heat faster than 80 L (A3 80) with a similar element, but there is no reserve. 30–50 L zone: A3 30, A3 50. For instantaneous EIL 6 Plus — no capacity; there is power and flow. If the electrics “cannot pull”, water is warmer at lower flow. What not to confuse “Higher power” ≠ “more shower reserve” (that is capacity). “Bigger capacity” ≠ “hot immediately” (that is power + time). guide · storage vs instantaneous · Water heaters.

Seals and plumbing consumables

Seals and plumbing consumables

Before replacing the whole mixer, check the seal and feed. Seals and mounting is cheap “first aid” if the size is right. Fibre and rubber MaterialSize examples Fibre3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″ Rubber3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″ When a seal is enough Drip at the joint, not from the body. Old, cracked seal after dismantling. If it leaks from the body or the cartridge “plays” — see mixer replacement and cartridge. Typical mistakes Taking “almost the same” diameter. Overtightening — the seal deforms. Using unsuitable material for hot water. Seals · mixer · plumbing.

How to choose a toilet flush

Guides 03/11/2026 INVENTĀRS

How to choose a toilet flush

In everyday talk “flush” often mixes three things: bowl geometry (rimless), cistern mechanism/plate and bidet hygiene function. This page separates them. Basics: WC guide. Rimless Without the classic rim channel — easier cleaning. Example: Jika Mila rimless. That is not automatically a “weaker flush”; read manufacturer data. Cistern plate and frame In a wall-hung system the plate is the user’s “button”. It must match the frame/cistern standard. Do not buy a plate “because it is pretty” if the frame is different. Bidet / shower-toilet A separate function with extra connections. Exam..

What pipe diameter and pressure mean

What pipe diameter and pressure mean

Numbers on a pipe card are not decoration. They decide whether the line survives pressure and temperature. Basics: guide. How to read 20×2.8 PN20 Rozma 20×2.8 PN20: 20 — outer diameter mm; 2.8 — wall thickness mm; PN20 — pressure class. Larger diameters: 25×3.5, 32×4.4. Glass-fibre / reinforced example: PP-R glass fibre — see card. SDR and hot water SDR links wall thickness to diameter. Hot water often needs a thicker wall / another class than cold. Use the manufacturer table, not “forum PN”. Why you do not downsize “by eye” Smaller diameter = higher losses, noise, weaker flow for ..

What drainage diameter (DN) means

Guides 03/11/2026 INVENTĀRS

What drainage diameter (DN) means

On a drainage card you see DN50 / DN75 / DN110. That is the nominal diameter. Basics: how to choose drainage. DNTypical use (indicative)Examples 50Basin, bidet, local lines×250, ×500, ×1000 75Some showers / intermediate lines (per project)×500, ×1000 110WC, stack, main lines×250, ×500 Compensation short pipes: DN50, DN110 — for installation convenience, not “to reduce diameter”. Rule: do not reduce diameter in the flow direction without a project. Drainage.

What microns mean in a water filter

Guides 03/11/2026 INVENTĀRS

What microns mean in a water filter

On a filter element card you see mcr (microns). That is “mesh” fineness. This page teaches you to use it. Basics: how to choose a filter. What the number means 25 mcr catches coarser particles than 5 mcr. Smaller number = finer filter. It does not say “removes chlorine” or “removes limescale” — only particle size in mechanics (string/fibre). ElementmcrPractical note FA Mignon 25 mcr25Coarser protection, less often “blocks” at once FA Mignon 10 mcr / FA SX 10 mcr10Finer mechanics FA Mignon 5 mcr / FA SX 5 mcr5Finer; on dirty water — more frequent change CPP SX 25 mcr / CPP SX 10 mc..

What mixer spout and cartridge mean

What mixer spout and cartridge mean

On a mixer card two words often decide a good or bad purchase: spout and cartridge. This page teaches you to read them. Basic choice: how to choose a mixer tap. Spout — length and height Length (mm) — how far from the body water comes out. Too short a spout on a deep kitchen sink hits the back wall; too long — the front rim. Height — how much space under the spout. A low spout blocks washing a large pot; a very high one can splash. Example in the rangeSpout (as listed)When to consider Jika Lyra Smart143 mmMore compact zone Jika Lyra143 mmSimilar class Jika Talas Trendy210 mmNeed a..
