How to choose WC flush type and cistern plate
In everyday talk “flush” often mixes three things: bowl geometry (rimless), cistern mechanism/plate and bidet hygiene function. This page separates them. Basics: WC guide.
Rimless
Without the classic rim channel — easier cleaning. Example: Jika Mila rimless. That is not automatically a “weaker flush”; read manufacturer data.
Cistern plate and frame
In a wall-hung system the plate is the user’s “button”. It must match the frame/cistern standard. Do not buy a plate “because it is pretty” if the frame is different.
Bidet / shower-toilet
A separate function with extra connections. Examples: Geberit Aquaclean Alba, Grohe Sensia. Check electricity, water inlet and service access — that is a project, not “pan colour”.
Typical mistakes
- Mixing rimless with bidet.
- Buying a plate without frame compatibility.
- Ignoring water use / dual flush notes on the card.

FAQ
Do I need dual flush?
