A home workshop starts with tools you use every week — not a giant case “for everything”. A solid base: hand tool sets, hammers, screwdrivers and storage (bags).

Drilling and sawing have their own guides — this article does not replace them.

Ready-made sets — what they cover

KS Tools 97-piece set — 1/4" and 1/2" sockets, ratchets, combination wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, 300 g hammer and knife in a plastic case.
Scheppach TB235 — 233 pieces: sockets, bits, wrenches 8–19 mm, ABS case. Home, car and workshop — but not a drill or a saw.

97 vs 233 is a piece count, not a quality score. The smaller set already includes hammer and pliers; the larger one has more sockets. Neither covers drilling wood by itself.

What a set does not replace

Where to put the tools

Practical start
