Screwdriver bits: what PH, PZ, TX and torsion mean
The bit is what enters the screw head. PH (Phillips), PZ (Pozidriv) and TX (Torx) are not “almost the same cross”. This page is how to pick the code and the length. Fixed screwdrivers: screwdriver guide.
| Code | What you see | Do not |
|---|---|---|
| PH0, PH2 | Phillips cross, size 0 or 2 | Drive a PZ2 screw with PH2 “because it goes in” |
| PZ2 | Pozidriv — extra tick marks | Think TITAN changes the profile |
| T10–T30 | Torx star, the number is the size | Assume T20 “fits T25” |
| Torsion / 25 mm / 50 mm | Shank and length | Use a 50 mm holder as a bit |
SPECIALIST+ 24-2-052 PH2 — PH2, 2 pcs. 24-2-049 PH0 — 25 mm, 2 pcs. PH0 is electronics; PH2 is a typical wood screw. 24-2-060 PZ2 — 50 mm, 2 pcs. PZ2 is not PH2.
24-2-057 PH2 TITAN — PH2 with a TITAN coating; the profile stays PH2. 24-2-8051 PZ2 TORSION — 25 mm torsion shank for machine driving. Torsion is not another PZ size.
24-2-063 T20 — Torx T20, 2 pcs. 24-2-069 TORX GRIP T20 — 50 mm, 2 pcs. GRIP helps the chuck hold the bit; T20 stays T20.
24-2-050 magnetic holder — 58 mm, 1 pc. The holder takes a bit; it is not PH2.
How to use: match the code to the screw head against the light. If it cam-outs, the size or profile is wrong — do not push harder. Bits. Socket drive 1/4–1/2: socket-drive guide. Drills: cordless drill guide.
